Frost and Freeze May Arrive Late In the Week

High pressure to our south may bring slightly warmer air later Wednesday but we start out in the 30s and 40s.

Another cold front arrives in the afternoon, increasing the clouds and a chance for isolated showers for Northern and Western New England during the day and at night. This poses a risk for snow showers towards the higher elevations.

Wind along the front may gust past 40 mph late in the day as wind shifts from southwest to northwest.

Behind the front is the coolest air since last spring, with lows in the 20s and 30s Wednesday night. Highs will struggle to reach 50 degrees Thursday, under blue sky and sunshine.

A widespread frost and freeze will be here early Friday, but with sunshine highs back in the 50s by afternoon.

The weekend features another combination of fronts, a warm front and a cold front Saturday and Saturday night may bring a brief warm-up, then gusty downpours and colder air for Sunday, much like what happened last night.
