Fugitive Wanted in Connection With Milford Death Arrested in New Jersey

A fugitive wanted in connection with a death in Milford, Massachusetts, has been arrested in New Jersey.

New Jersey State Police said they arrested Jusselo Dias Dos Reis, 44, of Brazil, for allegedly stabbing a man to death in Milford. He was taken into custody without incident at a residence in Newark on Monday.

Evens Seney, who lives at the home where Dos Reis was found, told NBC Boston he doesn't know the suspect but thinks his landlord does.

"When he came here he was very, very relaxed, seemed like nice people. Behaved like a nice guy," Seney recalled.

He said Dos Reis arrived to the home over the weekend but didn't stay long. Police arrived in the middle of the night to make their arrest, he said.

"With the dog, when the cop they come over and they try to - he tried to hide," Seney recalled.

Dos Reis is being held in a New Jersey jail pending rendition to Massachusetts. He was wanted on a charge of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the Milford incident.

Police responded to a multi-family home on North Bow Street in Milford on Sunday morning where they found a man dead inside.

The victim was identified by prosecutors as 48-year-old Geraldo Carlos Do Amaral. He is believed to have died between 3 and 4 a.m.

One neighbor told NBC Boston that he heard yelling early in the morning. Another said he heard "partying" overnight.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said Dos Reis is believed to have illegally entered the country.
