The Northern Lights danced across the sky in parts of Northern New England during the pre-dawn hours of Saturday.
The hint of green was captured on camera near Mount Katahdin in Maine, and was spotted from the weather observatory atop Mount Washington in New Hampshire.
The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, occurs when energy from the sun interacts with Earth’s atmosphere.
The solar activity will continue this weekend, so other glimpses of the Northern Lights are possible Saturday night.
It’s difficult to see with the naked eye, but your best odds of seeing anything would be in dark areas away from city lights in far Northern Vermont, Northern New Hampshire, and Northern Maine.
