Gradually Nicer Weather Headed for New England

The weather pattern has changed little, as much of the nation suffered another round of severe weather yesterday, including just southwest of New England in Pennsylvania and New Jersey where violent weather and flooding just missed us last night.

The pattern is a little nicer for New England today though. The front to our south is a little farther south, and wind comes a little bit less from the ocean, that results in warmer air, also fewer clouds help us get to 75° in western New England. Along the shore in eastern New England and parts of Maine, we may remain mostly cloudy with a high temperature in the 60s to low 70s.

Another round of strong thunderstorms reforms over Pennsylvania and New York today, entering New England late in the day and tonight. We will have a wave of low pressure pass right over us with a chance of heavy rain and a thunderstorm tonight, that will hold temperatures in the 50s tonight.

Tomorrow looks nice, with plenty of sunshine and lower humidity, along with a light wind initially offshore, should allow most of us to get into the 70s. But at light seabreeze develops later in the day, cooling coastal areas a bit.

For a nice change, we are rain-free tomorrow night, with a mostly clear sky low temperature in the 30s and 40s north, and 40s and 50s south.

We have another beautiful Saturday morning in store, with plenty of blue sky, temperatures get back to the 70s fairly quickly. But another front coming in from the west will generate afternoon clouds with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. High temperature in the 70s to near 80°.

That front, in addition to a storm forming at sea, will likely keep many clouds in the region Sunday, with scattered showers and maybe a thunderstorm. The wind may be more from the east, keeping high temperatures in the 60s to low 70s.

Early next week there is some very cold air in south eastern Canada, and the boundary is close to New England, means a chance of showers or thunderstorms each afternoon, with a high temperature back down in the 60s. We expect some moderation by middle and second half of next week. Stay tuned to our First Alert 10 Day Forecast for the latest updates.
