Hartford Police Officers Injured During Pursuit

Three Hartford Police Officers were injured last night during the pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

According to Hartford Deputy Chief Brian Foley, an officer was following a stolen vehicle in the area of Brookfield St. After he lost sight of the vehicle, a Hartford detective saw the vehicle on Park St. The operator was driving recklessly.

The driver, Ricardo Perez, pulled over on Affleck St. As officers approached the car, Perez moved the vehicle and struck a Hartford detective.

During the pursuit of the vehicle, Perez struck four Hartford Police vehicles.

Perez was taken into custody and charged with multiple crimes including reckless driving, larceny, reckless endangerment and assault on police.

One detective, two officers and Perez all suffered non-life threatening injuries.
