Heat and Humidity Nearing an End

A heat advisory remains in effect for Boston and surrounding areas through Thursay evening for another day of high heat indices. Actual temperatures will be in the 80s with dew points in the 70s, leading to heat indices in the mid-90s.

Morning thunderstorms brought significant rain to Cape Cod, up to 5 inches of rain in spots. Street flooding occurred in Orleans, Eastham and Chatham. Isolated thunderstorms remain a possibility this afternoon, mainly along the Cape and through Maine.

Humidity finally starts to drop into Friday, with dew points back into the low 60s for most. Temperatures will still be in the 80s, but will feel more comfortable thanks to the lower humidity.

The weekend brings some big changes; temperatures drop back into the 70s but off-and-on rain returns both Saturday and Sunday.

Humidity starts to build back into next week, and by Tuesday it will be warm, humid and stormy once again.
