Heavy Rain and Wind Moves Through New England

Waves of heavy rain continue to work through New England this afternoon, but the steadiest rain will wind down this evening and tonight.

In addition to the rain, totaling 0.50-1.5" in most cities and towns, we have strong winds near the coast. Gusts there will reach as high as 30-50 mph at times. All the while, because the wind is coming in off the water, temperatures stay in the 50s and 60s.

A few spot showers will linger tonight, even though the heaviest pulls away, and skies will stay mostly cloudy with temperatures holding steady.

Tomorrow is breezy, but it's a warmer wind direction. That means highs will go into the 70s for many. We'll have some sunshine on Friday, blended with clouds, but still expect a few light pop up showers, mainly north and west of Boston.

Saturday is the pick of the weekend with lots of sunshine and highs around 80. The only spot with a few extra clouds, and perhaps a stray shower, would be in far northern New England.

Father's Day brings more clouds and more showers. It still doesn't look like a washout though. Temperatures will be in the 70s.

Next week will be warmer, with highs around 80, and more humid. Each day will also bring a few pop up showers or storms.
