Here's What Tom Brady Said About Golfing With President Bush

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady shared some of his memories of former President George H.W. Bush during a radio interview Monday.

He spoke specifically about the time he was invited to play golf with Bush and former President Bill Clinton in 2006 in Kennebunkport, Maine, where Bush spent his summers.

”It was pretty sweet. Playing with two presidents, it was pretty cool,” Brady told WEEI’s “Mut and Callahan.”

He said he got permission from Patriots coach Bill Belichick to attend, and flew up and landed at the Bush compound.

He recalled that Bush had a putting green outside his house, and talked about how he went out on Bush’s boat, had dinner with Bush and Clinton, and played cards with the two ex-presidents.

”It was just a great experience,” Brady said. “I was so young at the time.”

He said Clinton took the golf much more seriously than Bush. “If he wanted to hit five balls, he hit five balls.”

Brady said he kept in touch with President Bush over the years, and Bush would sometimes attend Patriots games when they were in Houston.
