As the winter storm headed to Boston, passengers hoped to head out of town Thursday.
Around 50 flights were canceled into and out of Logan Airport in Boston Thursday, and there were about 300 delays.
The upcoming weather is one of the reasons most airlines are waiving change fees for travelers looking to reschedule their flights.
"Everybody kept talking about a bomb cyclone," said Melissa Mee of Wayland. "We'll make do and do what we can."

"With the storms, I really thought my flight was going to be canceled," said Ifechi Okonwko of Dorchester. "But it's delayed for 30 minutes."
Martha Giberson was trying to get from Boston to Seattle.
"If this one gets canceled, I'm going to cancel the whole trip," said Giberson.

Passengers say they were checking their phones relentlessly, hoping not to receive any dreaded messages about delays or cancellations.
"I was afraid of getting here and then being stuck here and not knowing what to do next or how to get out to go see my family," said Jamie Santos of Cape Cod.
The stormy weather was not stopping the Grinch from making a special appearance.
Kristan Lanoue of Quincy wanted to welcome home her son in a very special way and dressed up in a Grinch costume.
"I think I got the best Mom in the world," said her son, Logan Montgomery.
Massport is expecting around 1.2 million travelers in the next eight days through Logan Airport, a similar number to the people traveling during Thanksgiving.
The agency says it's ready for the travel rush and announced they have plenty of staff to deal with crowds at Logan without major issues.
"If you're traveling to an area impacted, I ask you to check with your airline before you head to the airport. Give yourself about two hours on the domestic side and internationally I would give myself three hours." said Ed Freni from Massport.
Air travel this year during the holidays is at about 90% of what was normally seen before the pandemic began.
