Danny Strengthens Into First Hurricane of 2015 Atlantic Season

Tiny Hurricane Danny is expected to lose the limited punch it's packing by this weekend.

Danny's maximum sustained winds Thursday night had decreased slightly to 80 mph (130 kph) and hurricane-force winds extended only about 10 miles from the center.

The hurricane is centered about 970 miles (1,560 kilometers) east of the Windward Islands and is moving west-northwest at 10 mph (17 kph).

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says Danny does not currently pose any threat to land, and is expected to weaken on Saturday.
