Josh McDaniels Not Talking About Florida

McDaniels has had success as the Patriots' offensive coordinator.

Josh McDaniels' first stint as a head coach didn't go so well in Denver. He started 6-0 in 2009 but finished 8-8, and he was fired midway through the 2010 season.

He's rediscovered success in New England, where he is again the offensive coordinator of a team that has Tom Brady. But on Tuesday, McDaniels' named was mentioned as a possible candidate for the University of Florida job, a big-time opportunity in the nation's best football conference.

But McDaniels has learned well from the master. When asked about the rumors Tuesday, McDaniels channeled Bill Belichick by saying "I'm onto San Diego," whom the Patriots meet Sunday.

“I really honestly don’t even have any idea about that rumor,” McDaniels said. “I heard it. But, I have nothing to add to it. My focus is solely on the Chargers and getting our team ready to go on offense. I’m trying to do the best that I can. ...

“It’s the time of year that this happens quite a bit and I’ve been through it before,” he continued. “Keep your focus where it belongs, which is on the next opponent. We have plenty to work on and get prepared for because this is a really good defense to face.”

This is all Justin Bieber's fault.
