Lemonade Draws Thirsty Patrons to Fundraiser for Principal in ICU

Dozens of people turned out Saturday afternoon for a lemonade stand and bake sale that was organized to raise money for a Westford elementary school principal who was seriously injured after falling out of a tree.

Kevin LaCoste, the principal at Robinson Elementary School in Westford, fell out of a tree in his backyard last month, leaving him with a spinal cord injury.

His sister, Lori O’Donnell, said her brother cannot speak or feel anything below his shoulders.

"There’s just a wide spectrum of what people get back," she said of his prognosis. "It really depends on the injury, and it depends on the person."

In addition to lemonade and snacks, they also sold bracelets that said #LaCosteStrong.

The proceeds will go directly to LaCoste’s family, O’Donnell said.
