Local Sports Radio Host Injured in Crash Heading to Patriots Playoff Game

A sports radio host for 98.5 The Sports Hub says he's lucky to be alive after a bad crash Saturday in Norwood, Massachusetts.

"For reasons I cannot explain, I am relatively OK," he said in a statement he posted on social media.

Marc 'The Beetle' Bertrand shared on Facebook that he was driving on Route 1, headed to Gillette Stadium to host a pre-game show covering the Patriots, when a driver leaving a parking lot sped right into his Dodge Ram.

Bertrand's car rolled over before coming to a stop on its side, and he had to be freed by the Jaws of Life.

The radio personality, who co-hosts the "Patriots Preview" and "Patriots Postgame" shows on 98.5, says he is "relatively OK" after suffering minor injuries and that he is already home from the hospital.

"I cannot express in words how thankful I am for the Norwood Fire/EMS and Police departments. They were on the scene in what seemed like seconds," Bertrand said in the statement. "They do amazing work like this every single day."

Bertrand says he hopes to be back on air this week.
