New England

Lots of Sun, Spot Storm This Weekend

It’s a beautiful weekend across New England, with lots of sunshine and just a few slight chances for downpour or storms.

High temperatures today will be near 80 at the coast with a light onshore wind. Inland expect highs to make it higher into the 80s with gradually building humidity. As that seabreeze blows ashore, it may spawn a spot shower or downpour this afternoon for inland areas. This will be very similar to what we saw on Friday.

Humidity continues to build overnight as winds turn out of the south and southwest. Expect lows in the 60s to near 70.

Sunday is hot and humid thanks to that wind. Highs will surge into the 80s and low 90s, except for coasts that face south. An approaching cold front will trigger afternoon storms across the mountains of Northern New England, and a few of those downpours or storms may reach Southern New England around dinnertime.

The heat and humidity will continue both Monday and Tuesday, as highs continue to be around 90. That will likely make this stretch a heat wave in some spots. An isolated storm is likely both days.

Rain chances increase for more of us Wednesday into Thursday as a second front nears. That will drop our temperatures and humidity by week’s end.
