Lynn Mom Sets Up Sting to Catch Alleged Child Sex Predator

A Lynn, Massachusetts man is facing a child enticement charge after he allegedly arranged to meet up with an 11-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.

Cesar Perez, 48, of 763 Summer St., had his appearance in Lynn District Court waived on Friday, and he is being held in jail without bail.

Police have said additional charges could be forthcoming.

Lynn police said Perez contacted the 11-year-old using the WhatsApp instant messaging app. The girl's mother set up a sting on her own, arranging a meeting with Perez and then contacting police.

Perez was arrested when he showed up to meet the girl on Tuesday at her bus stop, according to Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec.

According to court documents, the girl recorded Perez on her phone asking for sex. He reportedly asked if the girl was a virgin, and when she answered yes, he said it was OK, they could "go slow."

No further information was immediately available.
