Elizabeth Banks Fan Buys Out ‘Charlie's Angels' Screening in Her Hometown

Elizabeth Banks, who wrote, directed, produced and acted in the movie, was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Journalist and Twitter personality Yashar Ali announced Saturday that he bought out a Sunday screening of "Charlie's Angels" in Pittsfield— and the tickets are free to the public.

In a series of tweets, Ali explained that he bought out three showings at three different theaters across the country, each in a city with ties to Elizabeth Banks, who wrote, directed, produced and acted in the movie.

Banks was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Ali tweeted that he bought out Sunday's 3:10 p.m. screening at Phoenix Theatres Beacon Cinema.

He also bought out a show at a theater in Philadelphia, where Banks went to college, and at a theater in San Francisco, where she got her MFA before moving to Los Angeles. Both shows are Sunday afternoon.

Ali says all tickets to the three screenings are free to the public and available for pick up at the box office.

At the end of his thread, Ali tweeted that he met Banks years ago when he was a political staffer, and she was always kind to him.

"Over the years, she's always been there for me and I've never forgotten it. You don't have to be a jerk to be successful!"
