Man Charged With Robbing Gambler, Attacking Her at Quincy Home

A Rhode Island man is facing charges in connection with the robbery and attack of a Massachusetts woman after she left a casino.

On Tuesday, Ty Shon Forbes, 21, of Warwick was held as a bail violator on previous gambling-related charges until his rendition to Massachusetts, where police in Quincy had a warrant charging him with unarmed robbery and assault and battery on a person older than 60.

Rhode Island State Police said an investigation revealed that on Nov. 10, Forbes watched as a 61-year-old woman receive a large cash payout at Twin River Casino in Lincoln.

The victim was followed to the parking lot and then to her home in Quincy, where police allege Forbes robbed her of the cash and personal items.

Authorities said the victim sustained a significant injury during the robbery — including broken vertebrae.

Forbes has been was released by Rhode Island authorities into the custody of Quincy police.

It's unclear when he will appear in a Massachusetts court to face charges or if he has an attorney.
