A person was struck and killed by an MBTA Commuter Rail train Saturday evening, officials said.
Transit police say a man was trespassing on the right of way in the area of 248 Essex Street when he was struck by an inbound train on the Gloucester line.
The man, who has not been identified, was struck near Montserrat Station in Beverly and pronounced dead from his injuries.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated, but foul play is not suspected.
