Officers are investigating after a man was shot in the spine in New Haven early Monday morning.
ShotSpotter detected gunshots in the area of Greenwich Avenue between 1st and 2nd Street around 1:30 a.m.
When police arrived to the scene, they said they found a 27-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers at the scene said the man was shot in the spine and required emergency surgery at the hospital.
The man was listed in critical, but stable condition and his injury is deemed non-life threatening, authorities added.
