Body of Tennessee Man Who Posted Facebook Murder Confession Found in Miss.

Casey Lawhorn, 23, detailed the shootings in a Facebook post and notified authorities about the bodies before fleeing

Police in Mississippi have found the body of a wanted man who posted a Facebook confession Sunday describing how he fatally shot his mom and a friend in Tennessee.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Department wrote in a Facebook post just before noon Monday that the body 23-year-old Casey Lawhorn was found in Vossburg, Miss. Lawhorn appeared to have died from a self inflicted gun shot wound, Sheriff Randy Johnson said.

Lawhorn's car was found empty on Sunday along Interstate 59 in Jasper County, according to East Ridge Assistant Police Chief Stan Allen. A multi-state manhunt was launched for Lawhorn, who is suspected of killing Vi Lawhorn and Avery Gaines.

Allen says the bodies of Lawhorn's mother and Gaines, 22, were found with gunshot wounds to the head at a home in East Ridge along the Tennessee-Georgia border.

Allen says Casey Lawhorn notified authorities about the bodies before fleeing the state in a gold Ford Taurus.

Lawhorn detailed the shootings in a Facebook post early Sunday, admitting to shooting Gaines while he slept on the living room floor and writing that when he first attempted to shoot his mother, who was "completely wasted" in bed, his gun jammed.

He said he left the room to fix the jam and when he returned, his mother, was out of bed trying to calm down her dog, Oscar.

"I rapidly got off two shots, but I missed anything vital since there weren't any lights on in her room," he wrote. "I saw one entry wound in her left arm, I'm not sure where the other one went. She started screaming the worst scream I've ever heard."

He shot his mother two more times, "and it was over," Lawhorn wrote. He said he stole money and drugs from Avery and left the house.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
