At the scene, a woman told officials that a man who was behaving erratically approached her family. After being asked to leave, the man allegedly grabbed the woman's 12-year-old son by the arm.
The woman says she pushed Medina away and demanded he not touch her son. She says he then walked towards a nearby playground.
A state trooper who responded to the call found Medina holding a large rock. He allegedly told police he knew the woman and her son. After the woman positively identified Medina, he was placed under arrest.
Medina was ordered to be held on $25,000 bail during his appearance in South Boston District Court. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
He's due back in court on Sept. 21.
