A massive water main break in Manchester, New Hampshire is under control, but over a dozen people are without heat and hot water Sunday night.
Crews are expected to be on scene all night Sunday into Monday as they work to repair the pipes and try to restore power and heat to homes in the area.
Authorities say the water main likely burst because of the extreme cold, leaving a mess in its wake.
Several cars on the street are stuck in driveways, encased in ice.
At one point, water was up to the door handle of one car.
"It was like a river, and by the time I came outside it was up to my knees."
Gary Hawkins says the water quickly flooded the street, damaging cars and flowing into his home.

His neighbor's car is encased in ice, and they are now staying at a nearby warming shelter.
"We’ve probably displaced just about a dozen to 20 people."
District Fire Chief Hank Martineau says the icy wet mess is also impacting dozens of buildings with water up to the first floor in some cases, and crews are still trying to fix the damage near Jane and Lowell streets.
"So right now there probably an eight square block area with no power or no gas and the occupants have lots of water damage."
The cause of the break is under investigation, but Martineau says the pipes in some cases are 100 years old and are not built for this type of extreme cold.
He's calling this one of the largest water main breaks ever in Manchester,
It's leaving neighbors like Hawkins waiting.
"No power, no nothing in the house."
One firefighter was taken to the hospital with an ankle injury after slipping on the ice.
Central High School is being used as a temporary warming center.
It remains unclear when neighbors will be able to return to their homes.
