Massachusetts State Police Trooper Suffers Medical Issue, Dies

Massachusetts State Police troopers are mourning the sudden death of one of their own Wednesday.

Trooper Matthew Daigle, 31, suddenly collapsed while off-duty on physical training.

Doctors could not resuscitate him.

"Most of all, our thoughts at this time, and our prayers, are with his family," state police spokesperson said in a statement. "He is survived by his wife, father, sister and in-laws."

Trooper Daigle was a five year state police veteran. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.

The wake takes place on Sunday afternoon, March 26, at John Everett & Sons Funeral Home in Natick. The funeral is Monday, March 27, at 10 a.m., St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Natick.
