Shelter in Place Lifted in Mattapoisett

Residents in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, are no longer under a shelter-in-place order from police.

Police in Mattapoisett had been asking people in the area of Acushnet Road to stay inside on Tuesday night as crews searched for a male suspect accused of an assault.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He will be arraigned at the Wareham District Court on Wednesday.
