Train Service Resumes After Train Hits, Kills Person in Stratford

A person has been struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Stratford and police are investigating.

Metro-North suspended service between New Haven and Bridgeport, but service has resumed, with expected delays of up to 30 minutes. 

Traffic on Shoreline East is also affected and there are delays of up to 40 minutes. 

Officials from Metro-North said the person who was on the tracks was not authorized to be there and was struck at 8:27 a.m.

The train that hit the person left Washington, DC at 3:15 a.m. and was heading to Boston.
