Rain, Cool Temperatures in New England Thursday

Temps are beginning to cool down in New England and a disturbance that dropped a damaging tornado on Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Tuesday night will bring a period of rain to the region Thursday.

Thunderstorms have been batting off the island of Nantucket overnight but that system is quickly moving east, out to sea. The next round of rain is coming from New York this early Thursday morning, and will arrive mid-morning to mid-afternoon for most of us.

It won’t be a heavy downpour, nor will it last long enough to affect the evening commute, but it will be steady for a time around midday. You may want to have your umbrella handy. Temperatures will fall through the day to the 50s by the day’s end.

Friday will be your typical pleasant autumn day, with crisp temps in the mid-60s and plenty of sunshine.

We expect a cloudy Saturday with perhaps some late day and evening showers scattered around before sun returns with warmth Sunday, with high temperatures expected to reach the 80s.
