Natasha Verma Hosts Event for National Cancer Survivors Day

National Cancer Survivors Day was celebrated at an event Thursday in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

NBC10 Boston’s Natasha Verma was a guest speaker at the event, hosted by Beth Israel Plymouth.

Hundreds of cancer survivors, caregivers, family members and healthcare professional united to show that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful and productive.

This year’s Cancer Survivors Day celebration of life was held at Beth Israel Plymouth. She joined Joe Andruzzi, former New England Patriots offensive guard and cancer survivor.

Verma, who was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma last year, has been very vocal about her cancer journey and treatment at Beth Israel.

Towards the end of her chemotherapy treatment, she launched non-profit program “Put A Cap On Cancer” which gives free cap wigs to cancer patients.

Beth Israel patients who received cap wigs from the foundation were also at the event and shared their emotional cancer experiences.
