GM Chief Faces Congress: “I Am Deeply Sorry”

General Motors' CEO Mary Barra testified before a House panel Tuesday that she was "deeply sorry" as the auto maker recalls millions of cars, many of them for an ignition switch problem that has been blamed for more than a dozen deaths. Lawmakers are trying to determine who is to blame for the deaths and challenged Barra over her company's slow response to the defective switches. Barra told them she was disturbed by past GM comments that the cost of replacing the faulty switches was too high and said GM would "do the right thing."
