Tom Brady: ‘No Margin for Error' Against 5-0 Chiefs on Sunday Night Football

New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady said there will be "no margin for error" when his team faces the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.

"We're going against a team that's 5-0," he said during his Friday media availability. "There's really no margin for error. It's going to be a very competitive game."

The Patriots are 3-2 and in first place in the AFC East after their win over the Indianapolis Colts last week.

Brady said getting off to a fast start Sunday will be critical, as the Chiefs tend to score early and often.

"I think they have a pretty good advantage in the first quarter of these games, getting ahead of all these teams and playing from ahead," Brady said. "That's obviously where we want to play, but it's tough to do. When we've started fast, games have ended well."

He heaped praise on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, saying "He's obviously got a great skill set" and "he's playing really well."

"It's a big test for our defense," Brady said.

Overall, he said the Chiefs are "well coached, they've got good players, they're very physical -- they're good in all areas. It's a tough game."

"They're very talented. They've been playing well all season. You're not going to win the game in the second quarter. This one's going to go down to the wire."

Brady was also asked Friday if he reached out to Drew Brees after the New Orleans Saints quarterback set the all-time NFL passing yardage record on Monday night.

"Yes, I did," Brady said. "We played against each other in college -- we beat him my senior year, which was good. He's had a great career."

"I think so highly of him, everything that he's accomplished. It's great when you see that happen."

The Patriots play the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football on NBC10 Boston. Coverage begins at 7 p.m., and kickoff is scheduled for 8:20.
