New England Patriots Trade for Atlanta Falcons Wide Receiver Mohamed Sanu: Report

The New England Patriots are acquiring Atlanta Falcons wide reciever Mohamed Sanu in a trade, multiple reports said Tuesday.

The Patriots will send a second-round pick to Atlanta,  sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The trade will help shore up the undefeated Patriots at wide receiver. The team entered its game with the New York Jets Monday night with just three healthy receivers behind Julian Edelman, including two rookies.

Sanu, 30, has had solid numbers in eight NFL seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and Falcons, racking up 33 receptions for 313 yards and one touchdown so far this season.

Although there has been no official announcement from the Patriots yet, Tom Brady bid a welcome to Sanu via Twitter.
