NH Man Sought for Killing His Wife is Found Dead

Maine State Police said a New Hampshire man sought in the killing of his wife was found dead Friday night in an apparent suicide.

Denis Bisson shot himself along the banks for the Androscoggin River, near an information booth, according to a statement sent by Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Bisson, 52, of Berlin, was wanted for the second-degree murder of 43-year-old Angie Bisson, who was found dead Friday morning. In a news statement released Saturday afternoon, New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Christopher J. Wagner, and Berlin Police Chief Peter Morency announced that an autopsy was performed on Angie Bisson by Chief Medical Examiner Jennie V. Duval.

"Dr. Duval determined that Ms. Bisson’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was homicide," according to the news release.

Denis Bisson was at-large and considered armed and dangerous, the attorney general’s office said Friday night. Police suspected he was in the Rumford-Mexico, Maine area.

Nearby residents heard a shot and called police, who discovered Denis Bisson's body at 11:30 p.m. Police also found Bisson's 2015 Toyota Tundra pickup truck  near an ATV trail off Route 108, about three miles from where his body was discovered.
