Norwalk Police Reopen 1975 Homicide Of 74-Year-Old Man

Norwalk police have reopened an unsolved 1975 homicide.

William Booker, 74, was found dead in his West Main Street apartment on Jan. 6, 1975, with a single bullet wound in his chest, according to the Norwalk Police Department Facebook page.

His son, Ernest Booker, found his the body in bed when he went to visit, as he did every few days.

The bullet recovered from William Booker’s body was sent for ballistic examination and comparison against possible firearms, but there was no match.

Police said several items in the apartment were processed for latent prints, but again no matches were made.

Police announced that the evidence will be reviewed for possible re-submission to the State Forensic Laboratory for ballistic, latent print, and DNA examination to see if any new leads can be developed.
