Finalists for the 2019 James Beard Awards have been announced and numerous New England chefs and restaurants made the cut.
The annual awards are presented for excellence in cuisine, culinary writing and culinary education in the United States.
The 2019 Bay State nominees include:

Sofra Bakery and Café, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Little Donkey, Toro, Uni, and others, Boston
Outstanding Wine, Spirits, or Beer Producer
Allagash Brewing Company
Best Chef: Northeast
Tiger Mama, Boston
Sarma, Somerville, Massachusetts
