Recently elected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his first official tour of the U.S. today and a White House dinner is on his to-do list — the only thing is, he's in the middle of a nine-day fast for the Hindu festival of Navratri. Modi, who only consumes liquids during the fast, says that it has "been a source of strength, power and inspiration for me over the last many years.” A spokeswoman for the White House said she is aware of the fast and that it shouldn't be an issue in any way.
