Shunned by Others, Baby Gorilla Finds a New Home

After being rejected by her mother and shunned by others, a baby gorilla is set to be moved to a new home at the Columbus Zoo, the Cincinnati Zoo said Friday. Kamina, a female Western lowland gorilla, was raised by zookeepers and volunteers who wore fuzzy vests and communicated in gorilla-like grunts in an attempt to socialize the young primate. "Kamina has learned all of the behaviors she needs to know in order to be successful in a gorilla group," said the primates curator at the Cincinnati Zoo.
