Parkland Activist Graduates, Will Attend Harvard

Jaclyn Corin, one of the co-founders of March for Our Lives, graduated high school with her classmates on Sunday at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.

Corin will attend Harvard University in the fall and is expected to graduate in 2023. The senior class president gave a speech at the graduation ceremony addressing the class of 2019’s accomplishments and hardships.

"Not only have you been challenged academically, but emotionally," she said. "Forced to endure the unthinkable, yet here we are."

Corin was a junior at the time of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting that killed 17 students and faculty members on Feb. 14, 2018.

Corin organized buses transporting her classmates to Tallahassee to meet with lawmakers on gun control. She continues advocating for common sense gun laws and registering young voters.

"We are representatives of our generation," Corin said. "Let’s continue to use that power as we travel on to our next destination."
