The remains were discovered by hunters Sunday in the Knittel Conservation area

The human remains discovered by hunters this week in Blandford, Massachusetts, have been identified, according to the Hampden District Attorney's office.

The remains, discovered by hunters, were found Sunday off Herrick Road in the Knittel Conservation area.

After the remains were tested at the chief medical examiner's office for testing, they were identified as 64-year-old Milton Eldredge, of Marlborough, prosectors said.

Eldredge was reported missing from the area in June 2014, the district attorney's office said.

Searches of the area on Sunday and Monday did not result in the discovery of any other remains, according to state police.

The discovery does not pose a current public safety threat, according to the district attorney's office.
