A woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after refusing to pull over for police.

According to police, an officer was patrolling on Wason Road in Hudson, New Hampshire Friday at about 1 a.m. when she noticed a 2017 Chevy Cruze in front of her operating in an erratic manner.

The officer tried to make a traffic stop, but the driver, Morene Gagnon, 55, of Hudson, refused to stop, police said.

The officer pursued the car and, in the area of 111 Wason Road, the car crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a telephone pole. Gagnon lost control, careened into the northbound lane and off the roadway, crashing into an embankment.

Hudson Fire responded to the scene and extricated Gagnon using the Jaws of Life, police said.

Gagnon was transported to the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for possible minor injury.

She was the only person in the car when it crashed.

According to police, the airbags did go off. They are unsure if she was wearing a seatbelt.

Gagnon was arrested at the hospital and charged with aggravated OUI, disobeying a police officer, conduct after an accident (hit and run) and open container.

She was released on $2,000 personal, recognizance bail.

Gagnon is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua on Sept. 20.

it is unclear if she has an attorney.

According to police, portions of Wason Road were closed for about an hour as they investigated the accident and Eversource repaired the damaged pole.
