Person Hit and Killed by Orange Line Train

A person has died after being hit by a train Thursday evening in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood.

The MBTA said a male was hit by an Orange Line train at Green Street station around 7:40 p.m. The utility said the victim "intentionally entered onto the right of way" and was hit by an outbound train.

The victim has died from his injuries, according to the MBTA.

Shuttle buses were replacing trains between Forest Hills and Jackson Square. The MBTA said delays occurred after the crash, but announced at 10:15 p.m. that regular service had resumed.
