Plane Collides With De-Icing Truck at Boston Logan Airport

A plane collided with a de-icing truck at Boston Logan Airport on Monday.

It happened on a taxiway as Alaska Airlines flight 33 was about to take off for Portland, Oregon.

The aircraft has minor damage to the left wing and has been taken out of service for inspection.

No one was in the truck at the time of the collision.

The plane returned to the gate where all 166 passengers deplaned and were given new flights to the west coast.

Alaska Airlines said in a statement, "we apologize to our guests who have been inconvenienced this afternoon on AS Flight 33. The safety of our guests and our employees is our number one priority."

MassPort is investigating the incident.
