Plans are in the works to redevelop one of the largest islands in Boston Harbor, but advocates need your help.
Peddocks Island, which sits just off of Hull, currently draws a small number of visitors. There are yurts on the island, as well as an old chapel and fort. Part of the movie “Shutter Island” was filmed there several years ago.
Boston Harbor Now is currently working with the National Parks Service and the Department of Conservation and Recreation to come up with a plan to increase island visits.
The groups are looking at all options—better spaces to hike and camp, building a restaurant, or even a hotel.
Boston Harbor Now stresses that it is open to any comments or ideas at this stage, and it hopes to hear from a large number of people.
