Connecticut Plastic Bag Tax Goes Into Effect Today

Make sure you have your reusable bags if you head to the store.

Beginning today, Connecticut retailers will tack on 10 cents for each "single-use" plastic bag.

The state expects to generate more than $27 million within the first year.

Single-use plastic bags will be phased out entirely by July 2021.

More than dozen communities in our state have already banned them.
