A Dartmouth, Massachusetts police officer was injured when his cruiser was struck by an alleged drunk driver.
While investigating a crash on Route 6 near Connecticut Avenue, the cruiser that officer Manny DeMelo was sitting in was struck by a pickup truck driven by David Costa, 56, of New Bedford, according to officials.
DeMelo was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he was treated for minor injuries. Costa was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation.
