Police Seek to Identify Bruins Fans in Brutal Beating

Police are looking to identify a group of Boston Bruins fans wanted for questioning in connection with a brutal beating that broke bones in the victim's face.

MBTA Transit Police released photos of five men Monday, three of them clearly wearing Bruins clothing. They said the subjects depicted in the pictures are wanted for questioning related to an aggravated assault and battery at the North Quincy MBTA Station around midnight on Friday.

The Bruins played Game 1 of their series against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.

Investigators are not calling the men suspects.

For MBTA commuters, the attack on the victim is unsettling.

"I just can't believe something like that would happen here," said MBTA commuter Eddie Merrigan. "It's kind of crazy to think about because it just seems like such a quiet place."

"For people who have to work later shifts, that kind of thing — second or third shifts — that's a little unsettling," added MBTA commuter Lee Bowman.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts or identities of the subjects is asked to contact the MBTA Transit Police's Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050. Anonymous tips can also be texted to 873873 or submitted using the anonymous feature on the MBTA's SeeSay app.
