Police: Man Dies After Hit by Orange Line Train

A man who was hit by an MBTA train Saturday has been pronouced dead by police.

Around 12:15 a.m., transit police arrived at the Orange Line track at State Street Station to see a man was hit by a subway train, according to officials.

A man who "seemed unsteady on his feet" stumbled and fell onto the tracks before he was struck by the train, police said. He was hit by a northbound train.

Transit Police detectives along with the Suffolk County DA's Office are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
