A woman was killed Thursday in a crash in Plympton, Massachusetts.
Police responded around 6:15 p.m. to County Road, where a Ford pickup truck and a Nissan SUV crashed head on, the department announced Friday.
Plympton Police say the driver of the pickup truck, a man whose identity has not been released, was ejected. The other driver, Diane Giordani of Plympton, was trapped in her SUV.
Giordani was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver was airlifted to a hospital in Rhode Island. Police did not reveal his condition and the nature of his injuries.
Police said Route 106 was closed for nearly eight hours.
The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said Thursday night that state police were investigating the cause of the crash.
No further information was available as of Friday.
