Marlborough Man Charged With Arson

A Marlborough man has been charged with arson after an investigation into a fire early Monday morning.

Police identified 27-year-old Reid Keener, of Marlborough, as a person of interest in a fire that was set at his parent’s house around 3 a.m. Monday.

Investigators found him around 2 p.m. in a nearby lake and transported him to Hartford Hospital to be evaluated.

Keener was discharged from the hospital into State Police custody and he held on a $25,000 bond on the arrest warrant from an unrelated incident.

He was charged with arson in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal mischief in the first degree.

Bond was set at $500,000.

Neighbors said the house where the fire happened is listed on several vacation rental sites and it’s referred to as Meadowbrook Estate.
