Police: Suspect Stabbed Man He Found in Bed With Woman in Webster

Police arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman and stabbing a man while they were in bed Wednesday in Webster, Massachusetts.

Authorities say 39-year-old James Kelly of Webster went into the basement of a Windy Ridge Road home for what he believed was a prearranged meeting with a woman to watch television. When he went upstairs and found the couple, he allegedly assaulted the woman and stabbed the man in the chest and stomach.

Officers responded around 11 p.m., but Kelly had fled the home. He was arrested without incident after police found him.

The victims' conditions were not immediately revealed by police.

Kelly faces charges of assault and battery on a household member, armed assault in a dwelling, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to maim and malicious destruction of property.

Kelly was arraigned Thursday at Dudley District Court. He is being held without bail until his next court appearance on Tuesday.

It was not immediately clear if Kelly had an attorney.
