The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touched down in two towns in Litchfield County Thursday evening.
The EF-0 tornado had winds of 75 miles per hour and stayed on the ground for about five miles.
NWS investigators came to the state Friday to investigate the twister.
According to the NWS, the tornado touched down along Smith Road in Norfolk around 6:35 p.m. It remained on the ground for about 15 minutes and ended near Pinney Street in Colebrook.

Damage from the tornado was mostly to trees in a very sparsely populated area.
