Presbyterian Church Declares Gay Marriage Is Christian

The top legislative body of the Presbyterian Church in America voted overwhelmingly Thursday to recognize same-sex marriage as Christian in the church constitution, NBC News reported. The amendment says that marriage can be the union of "two people," not just "a man and a woman." A separate policy change permits ministers to preside at gay weddings in states where same-sex marriage is legal. The conservative Presbyterian Lay Committee decried the Detroit vote as an "abomination."
